I personally feel that scaling by a dental assistant  of any classsifcation should be prohibited.  The extensive education and licensing of a dental hygienist is to ensure the health and safety of the public.   Patients deserve quality dental care by trained professionals.   We should not compromise or  lower our standard of care by allowing this.
