As a first year dental hygiene student, I am realizing how critical oral health is to the body’s total health. Substandard care by an under trained technician could result in grave health consequences for the patient, as well as major financial expenditures. I don’t think that would be in keeping with the patient’s best interest. Please leave the scaling to trained healthcare professionals.
