It took 2 yrs of intense training in a hygiene program for me to be comfortable knowing that I had done everything I could for a patient, along with countless hours of continuing education.  Please do not allow an individual with substandard traing provide care to my family and friends.  What appears to be an "EASY PROPHY" normally is not.  There are to many other factors to consider and PATIENT WELFARE should be the first and foremost.  Patients are not going to want an undertrained individual providing their dental care the same as none of us would want an undertrained individual providing our medical care.
