As a 2nd-year veterinary student, I am in support of this petition. One year is not a lot of time to learn all of the hands-on skills necessary to being a competent veterinarian. This revision would allow veterinary students in an accredited program to perform these skills under the direction and supervision of an experienced licensed veterinarian. These experiences would greatly supplement all learning done in the classroom and teaching hospital, and further ensure that students become confident, knowledgeable veterinarians upon graduation.
