I'm absolutely, 100% in support of this change.  Early, thorough, and consistent mentored experience is essential  to being a well prepared veterinarian, and as it stands now, vet students in Virginia find themselves at a disadvantage when compared to students in other states. I know many people who choose to leave VA during summers and breaks in order to actually be able to get the necessary experience in hands on techniques. This is a neccessary change and it needs to happen soon.
