Opposed? Ask yourself this...

I hope that the board realizes that many of these apposing comments are coming from ill-informed people. To those opposed to veterinary students gaining more hands-on learning experiences, ask yourself this, would you rather entrust your pet to a teaching hospital filled with renowned veterinarians who will be directly supervising your animal while helping to teach the students who will one day follow in their footsteps OR take your animal to a veterinary practice (sign the same liability paperwork mind you) and have a new graduate perform their 2nd or even 1st surgery on your pet with no supervision (because they have no legal obligation to disclose that information to you) ??Just because we are veterinary students does not mean we have any less respect for your animal or you as a client. Knowing that we are working with client-owned animals makes us that much more cautious and aware of what we're doing. Being able to work with live animals is INVALUABLE and will make us that much more proficient when we graduate. Thank you all for your consideration.
