The proposal is dangerous to animals, to pet owners, and to students who would be unqualified and under-supervised. It is not well-designed to develop the kind of veterinary practitioners that animals and people need to maintain confidence in the profession. Certainly, the desire to provide students with more time and opportunity to emerge as qualified for the levels of skills and ethics required in clinical practice is laudable, but this proposal is not sound. Please go back to consider the options more broadly and more deeply than this proposal currently reflects. Thank you.
