Expecting to graduate competent veterinarians without hands-on experience outside of the classroom is not  practical. As a 3rd year veterinary student about to enter my clinical year, I cannot imagine where I would be without the veterinarians who have supported me and allowed me to gain hand-on experience while working with them. Veterinary school prepares you for the basics the day you graduate. In order for students to get more one-on-one time with a veterinarian and practical experience, this petition is 100% necessary.
