No scaling should be allowed in DA1 or DA2

i am a newly graduate RDH. Based on talking to patients and all my classmates, DA1 and DA2 should not be allowed in any conditions at any time  to scale the teeth.  Can you imagine somebody use sharp instrument to scale your teeth without being properly trained? RDH is licensed professional and we are educated in school for 2-4 years. We provide the best care to the pt to help them maintain and prevent from dental  disease.

Lots of dentists support allowing DA1 AND DA2 to perform scaling, because they want to make more profit for themselves. The patient's care and right are the least important thing for them to consider.

Will you agree to let the hyginiest to do the basic restoration for the patient? Can we tell the patient : " we will drill their teeth and put the composite material in and thenn make their bite comfortable? Don't worry, even we are not DDS we have been trained to do it?"  Do you think that any patient will agaree you to do it ?

IF DDSs ALLOWED THIS EXPENDED DUTY TO RDH, THEN WHAT THEY NEED TO DO will be JUST MAKE A FINAL DIAGNOSE FOR THE PT AND THEN SIT IN THEIR OFFICE RELAXING. They don't need to work on the patient anymore!!!!!!!!
