I find it amazing that dental "professionals" (some dentists) would support such a measure to allow dental assistants to scale teeth. I find this decision very selfish, and those that support this measure are not looking out for the best interest of the patient. The focus seems to be on money versus quality patient care. We have to be honest with ourselves and our patients. I also find it amazing that some dentists are so quick to assign our job to someone else, yet feel so threatened at the mention of a dental hygienist getting any type of flexibility. What does this really mean?
