I oppose the petition to change the poicy to accept a Master's in Psychology for an LPC.  Counseling and Psychology are different discplines that are recognized by all 50 states.  There are two disctinct Boards in the Commonwealth of Virginia that license Professional Counselors and Psychologists.   These two boards represent the two distinct professions of Counseling and Psychology.  It would seem that it would be most helpful for Mr. Chase to peition the Board of Psychology to license non-doctoral psychology students instead of the Board of Counseling to license individual who were not trained as Counselors.
