I oppose this position

Psychology and counseling are two areas of human services with completely different skill sets. The LPC requires certain counselor skills that psychology masters students do not get in thier programs. CACREP programs and other counselor education programs pride themselves on the dedication of thier student to master the counseling skills through hours of practice and supervision.

I feel sorry for the students who obtained a psychology masters degree with hopes of becomming an LPC, however the LPC option should be for people who have trained to become counselors.
