I feel that passing this petition would be inappropriate. The Profession on Psychology has its own board, ethics and academic set of standards. The Board of Psychology does not feel that an individual with only a Masters of Psychology is adequately prepared to work independently and therefore will not license those with only a MS in Psych. I feel that for the BOC to take on licensure of individuals whom its own board does not feel are qualified to practice independently would be in breach of our charge to protect the public.
