The Board of Counseling made a correct decision when they established the current guidelines. I am sure that the members at that time examined the issue and recognized the difference between the professions of psychology and counseling. I am sorry that the students who are currently in master's psychology programs either did not do their own sufficient research or were given incorrect information, but the LPC is Licensed Professional COUNSELOR - psychology has its own licensure process. Perhaps the better resolution for the Psychology profession is to figure out a process to license these people within their own profession.
