Amend Statute

While it is glaringly obvious that most of the comments posted here were done in a knee-jerk fashion, as many of them appear to believe that the intent is to abolish topless and go-go dancing at VA establishments, I do see a flaw in the logic and the implied randomness of the three-feet separation from dancer and customer.

Most of the entertainment value of these establishments, since they are not permitted to be all-nude, is the interaction between the dancer and the patron.  Rest-assured, if a patron acts in a manner that the dancer or the club's management deems inappropriatethat patron will be removed.

Topless and go-go ("Gentlemen's") clubs are not dens of prurience nor generally of open lasciviousness.  For the most part patrons of these establishment (men and women, alike) are respectful and reasonable.

I believe that by pinning a number to the definition of "reasonable" actually places more pressure on the dancers and employees to monitor not only the clientelle, but also themselves more out of concern for their jobs or their ABC license should they "slip up" and move closer to one another than 36".  I feel that this arbitrary distance has nothing to do with "reason" but is more an attempt to strictly define something from without which is generally well-managed from within.
