Why does the rate continue to be so low?we play an important role.

Why does the A.G rate continue to be so low ,to do such an important job?We care for persons with disabilities that very much need our services. The state reimbersment rate is $12.63 per day.If the state puts a child in a residential group home under the same agency, the minimum is $120.00 per day and as much as $300.00 per day.Everyone  knows our rate and say it is pethetic but noone is willing to take a stand and do something right and help us increase the funding to a proper rate so we can continue to provide our services. Our typical raise is usually $1.00 per day. With the new ,back up generator bill into effect as of July ,2007 this will cost me $575,000 .I would like to get the contractor that social services had that implied it would cost me only $3000 per 6 beds.I am licensed for 98 ,even still this would cost me around $100,000.With all the new regulations coming into effect it seems their is only one thing to do ,that is to close my facility. It is not just me it is many other operators. We need a significant increase .Study after study has indicated the current rate needs to at least be double,Studies done by J.L.A.R.C.as well as area on aging. The rate is not reflected from our cost reports done annually . How is the current rate set?You tell me.Our rate need to double for 2 -3 years ,before the costly regulations go into effect.I provide jobs for 35 people and provide a home for currently 80 residents.I would like to continue this ,but I don't see how I can at the current rate.Thank you for reading my comment and please help us.
