Good morning I am here to speak out regarding the possibly devaluing of Oxford house and for all of the hard work that they do. These homes and residents are doing their best to make sure they become productive members of society and are surrounded by their peers that do the same. Anyone that comprehends or chooses to understand addiction, understands that a lot of mental health struggles coincide within addiction. Oxford house has proven to be an astounding place of safety and supports for their residents and should accept no blame based on larger facility models that have failed their clients. They are a nonprofit and if they have to jump through more hoops within society to provide safe housing to the individuals within their home, they will not just suffer, but so will the clients since clients are what make Oxford house so amazing. I have had several clients go to Oxford house and have been in their recovery for years. They are the living proof that they work.
