Oxford House has been a lifesaver for myself and many, many others.  It feels like a home. I get to help decide on all house decisions, we work together for each other, we hold each other accountable.  Oxford Houses are self supporting and self governed. It is a proven means of housing those in recovery to succeed in their road to a better life. Oxford houses are not commercial businesses. We are an unincorporated associations. We do not need a paid staff member to run our houses.  we are a self democratically run house. we agree that recovery houses should be regulated. We do not agree that we need to commercialized.  We want the regulations to include our very successful model rather than exclude us.  If these new regulations are approved over 180 Oxford Houses will have to close leaving over a thousand of us homeless.
