I moved into Oxford house Edgehill in September of 2022. I did not know the impact that it would have on me. The lack of authority figures removed my ability to focus my frustration at one person. Since we as a collective house handled the operations of living. I learned whT it ment to really he apart of a team and work through things. From personality conflicts to getting away from that mindset of thats not my job. The personal accountability pushed me foward as an individual. I could no longer use it wasn't me or not my fault. Having to pay fines tought me about how consequences actually worked. The community I found in oxf9rd house has since followed me through to where I currently am. By being apart if Oxford house I wad able to be apart of its growth. Opening new houses and meeting other people in their journey. I learned what not judging a person based on first impressions not only looked like. But also felt like in application. I grew into the responsible and dependable woman I am today. I do not belive I would be as secure in my recovery as I am not without the influence of Oxford house. Thanks to Oxford house I learned the true value of service and practicing the principles of recovery in all my affairs. I still recommend Oxford house to people in recovery and tell them how Oxford house helped reshape me into a stronger and more complete women.
