Dear Town Hall,
I have found out that the workgroup looking at rules for group houses is about to propose rules that would effect the viability of Oxford houses in Virginia. This would be a disaster for the recovery community. Oxford houses are NOT commercial businesses. Rather they are self-managed not-for-profit housing opportunities for people attempting to begin new sober lives. They are "operated" by the residents themselves. They should not be forced to follow rules for commercial businesses or those for unincorporated associations.
Oxford houses are a first step for people taking that first step to live in community. They have proved their value and should be supported rather than tied with intities that are profit oriented. Please look more closely into these new regulations
Yours sincerely
