My daughter has been in an Oxford House in Richmond VA since her release in 2024. As a parent you worry you will lose them. She has so much pride for the house she lives in and the way that Oxford House currently operates. She is always telling me how much of her success is attributed to being democratic and self govern and self ran. This organization has saved her life. I support rules that keep people safe, but rules that require staff or assume every home is a commercial business would keep Oxford Houses from operating in Virginia, even though research shows the Oxford house model gets the best results. Please change those rules, and please clarify whether house members are considered the operator.
