Hello! My name is Devon Housden and I am currently a member at Oxford House Neptune. I am 23 years old and have lived here for about 8 months. Im writing this to say how much oxford house and the way it operates has changed my life. A little over a year ago I was addicted to drugs, on the run from law enforcement, no job, no friends, no hope. I entered into an oxford home after a small stint in rehab and jail and it has changed my life for the better. The feeling of comraderie I got kept me sober knowing I have true friends who care about me, no reason to be nice except they want to. I also was assigned the position of house secretary which gave me responsibility. It got me involved and kept me clean. The reason I felt any of these feelings is because is wasnt forced. Oxford house worked for me because it didnt have to, its up to the people living in it and for me it worked. For my house it works. For all the people I see at the conventions and get togethers, it works. Please dont fix something that isnt broken. Oxford will continue to prove that there is hope for addicts if it is allowed too.
