VA audiologists exempt from additional licencing exam re: hearing aids.

Currently, Ohio audiologists obtain One licence after One exam in order to practice Audiology which includes provision of rehabilitative services such as hearing-aid examination, selection and fitting/dispensing.  Same should be true for all audiologists now practicing with doctoral degrees and having completed 8 years of post-secondary education and requisite examinations.

Virginia audiologists who are newly licenced ought to be able to practice as their degree indicates -----> as Clinical Doctors of audiology with expertise in diagnostic AS WELL AS rehabilitative services once they've put in their requisite paperwork.  The law should be amended to reflect the reality of audiologists' rigorous and lengthy education and experiences as trainees.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

J. K. Nousak, Ph. D., CCC/A
