Audiologist and hearing aid dealers licence.

Audiologists are placed through a rigorous schooling program that is more thorough and detailed than any dealers license classes.  If a person has graduated from an audiology program, whether it is a Masters or Doctoral degree, they are more than qualified to "prescribe" and fit hearing aids to any population.  The majority of Ear, Nose and Throat doctors hire audiologists for hearing aids and for diagnostics.  If physicians in other states are hiring audiologist, they must think we are very qualified to dispense hearing aids.

Cosmetologists are not asked to take a special test to color hair because it is part of their schooling. That is the same idea. Audiologists that have documentation of completing a degree (which includes hearing aid education) and have a state license should be deemed qualified to dispense hearing aids.
