Dry needling is a highly effective, evidence-based technique that athletic trainers are uniquely qualified to perform, especially when working with athletes who require fast and targeted relief. Opposing its use by athletic trainers disregards the crucial role they play in injury prevention, pain management, and performance recovery. With specialized education in musculoskeletal care, athletic trainers safely integrate dry needling to reduce pain, restore mobility, and support athletes' return to play. Limiting access to this tool hinders both the care athletes receive and the essential work athletic trainers do on the front lines of sports health.
