Licensed Acupuncturists come to the practice of acupuncture after years of training and a deep understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a complete medical system.  Allowing Athletic Trainers into this practice makes a mockery of it!  And it invites further erosion of this ancient practice.  As my herbal teacher lamented years ago, "everyone wants a piece of our pancake!" We have western medical doctors, chiropractors, PTs and now athletic trainers claiming the most well-known practice of this incredible medicine as their own.  Who's next?  Let's not continue to slip down this perilous slope! It will be the patients and the licensed acupuncturists who lose.
