I am strongly in favor of eliminating Objective Written Documentation. As a live-in caregiver, I know how difficult it is to secure dependable care outside the home. We’ve experienced attendants who don’t show up, leave early, or are disengaged. This never-ending struggle leaves family members with no choice but to take on the caregiving role themselves. We want the best for our loved ones—consistent, safe, and reliable care. When we can’t find that outside the home, we step up to provide it. Objective Written Documentation is an unnecessary bureaucratic hurdle that punishes live-in caregivers for stepping in when others fail. It should be eliminated.
