I am wondering if the hand washing requirements for teachers includes instances when we leave the room to collect supplies or step out to speak to another teacher or parent? Would I be in violation if I forget to wash my hands when I enter my classroom? And what if I am just stepping right outside my classroom door? Would I get citied for a violation? I obviously wash my hands when I arrive to my workplace, before and after serving food, using the bathroom, if I change a diaper, etc. but what about just grabbing my lunch from the fridge?
And one other thought - if child care centers are an extension of the Department of Education, do at least Kindergarten teachers have to follow all the same (hand washing) rules?
I am just curious.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
