Reasons not to trust another non-live relative to be the Employer of Record (EOR)

One of the reasons not to trust another non-live relative to be the Employer of Record (EOR) is the potential lack of personal investment and emotional connection. The role of the EOR requires active involvement, dedication, and a genuine interest in the child's well-being and development. Non-live relatives may not have the same level of emotional investment and understanding of the child's needs, desires, and aspirations. They might need help to provide the guidance, support, and mentorship the child requires in their employment journey. On the other hand, the other parent, being directly involved as the Legally Responsible Individual (LRI), has a vested interest in the child's success and can provide a nurturing and supportive environment. Their emotional connection fosters a sense of trust and reassurance for the child, knowing that their best interests are being prioritized.

Another reason to be cautious about entrusting the EOR role to a non-live relative is the potential for conflicting priorities and lack of commitment. Non-live relatives may have other personal and professional obligations that compete for their time and attention. This could result in a lack of availability, delayed response times, and limited commitment to the child's employment-related matters. In contrast, the other parent, as both the Legally Responsible Individual (LRI) and the EOR, has a vested interest and legal responsibility to ensure the child's well-being in all aspects of their life, including employment. Their commitment to the child's success and welfare is unwavering, and they are readily available to address any employment-related concerns or challenges. This commitment and dedication significantly enhance the child's overall experience and ensures that their employment affairs are handled with the utmost care and attention they deserve.
