Although degrees are useful in preparing people for this job, using the same degree profile for DD services in VA is too restrictive. Brain injury services would easily benefit from a broader range of degrees. Also, there are people that currently work in the brain injury case management role that have been doing so for many years. There were no degree requirements and these individuals have training and years of experience that more than qualify them for the role. Language to allow current staff to be grandfathered into the positions they have skillfully and faithfully done for years should be written in.
