I urge you to maintain Virginia’s participation in the Regional Greenhouse Initiative.

Withdrawing from RGGI would be a huge disservice to Virginians and to the region of which we are a part. Climate change knows no boundaries and cooperative efforts are needed if we are to make progress in reducing its devastating impacts.  The program has been shown to reduce power plant emission levels. It proceeds go to energy-efficiency programs for low-income Virginians and flood preparedness efforts.

Joining RGGI was a great step forward and a breath of fresh air for Virginia. Please don’t undo a program that is making a positive difference.
