My son is on a waiver and I’m his paid caregiver.before covid I try so many company to hire to someone come to my house and watch him and help him with his need but Becuse my son he got approve for 22 hours a week all the agency had a issues Becuse they ask me they need full time and is hard to fine anyone for him. I had to wait so many months to hire someone to come for him . And after they start working they leave him fast Becuse not have enough hours for them and it was so hard for my son to change all those people and change to new person. It was lot of stress and finally after covid they let parents be a caregiver for own kids and now they want to change it . I find it hard to understand why parents/spouses need to go thru an agency to care for their own child/spouse. Sense my son is a minor I had  to pass two background checks. Parents don’t need any additional stress either. We have IEP stress, medical stress and what the road ahead looks like for our loved ones. Please leave it like it is. As it would be one less thing for us to worry about.
