The proposed changes to attendant care will only serve to make life harder for families who have been providing care to their loved ones under Appendix K for the last three years. Requiring parents and spouses to be hired by an agency is an undue and unnecessary burden. Furthermore, requiring families to jump through additional hoops to prove they are providing services above and beyond what is considered the normal amount of care is insulting - the very fact that our loved ones qualify for attendant care hours in the first place should be proof enough that they have extraordinary needs.
