It is almost impossible to find a reliable attendant that will care for our son. Removing the ability to have parents be paid attendants with consumer directed care is just wrong and make it even more difficult for the child. Please find another way to save money. Disability care is not the place to remove options. We have a 13 year old with autism. He needs 24/7 care. Only one of us can work due to the amount of care and therapy he needs. By having this consumer directed option with a parent as a care giver has greatly improved our sons improvement. Many children with disability’s including our child can not communicate to let parents know if they are being mistreated. Having a stranger in the home is not the best option and we are stating this from our own experience. Thanks
