I’m begging. Please keep this option. Other states have this as a permanent option. Where we live I have worked tirelessly to find a qualified quality attendant for my child that can work with my child. It is virtually impossible to find someone that will work for what the state provides as an hourly wage and when I do, the attendants are incompetent and inadequate both via consumer direct and agency. This is in complete contrast to pre-Covid when I had many applicants of high quality and could find great care via consumer direct.  Our family needs this option to prevent poor and inadequate care of our child. Attendants that aren’t related have no interest or motivation without a double of salary of what the state offers. I’ve also had countless experience attendants respond to adds requiring  I supplement the state pay even though that is not legal. Our family has no relatives local at all. We are on our own just trying to survive as a special needs family.
