As an individual who deeply cares about the well-being of all members of society, it pains me to see my dear grandson, who is disabled and autistic, struggle to receive the care he needs. He requires around the clock care due to his unique combination of sensory needs, feeding issues, speech delay, and very limited speech.

Unfortunately, the search for quality caregivers has been unsuccessful for his parents, leaving them with an immense amount of stress and concern. As a grandparent, it is heartbreaking to witness their struggles and to see the toll it takes on their daily lives.

However, the state providing financial support to pay for a parent to take care of their disabled child has been a blessing for my family. It has alleviated some of the financial burden and has allowed them to provide their child with the specialized care that he requires.

It is imperative that we prioritize the rights and care of individuals with disabilities. They are an integral part of our society, and we must ensure that they are provided with the necessary support and resources to live fulfilling lives. The ability for parents to receive financial compensation for taking care of their disabled child is a crucial aspect of this support, and it should not be taken away.
