What can the Board of Elections be thinking? Our most basic right as citizens is the right to vote. Now, narrow political interests are threatening to limit that right to people with perfect handwriting. Reasonably observant people know that a person's handwriting can change over the years. Age and illness can cause hands to shake or arthritic fingers to write illegibly. Why must this prohibit people from voting? This is a venomous attack on people who simply want to exercise their right to participate in our democracy. The people will not stand for it. If you think the protests on Wall Street are growing, wait until you see the protests in the commonwealth about being robbed of the right to vote. Shame, shame, shame on the individuals who dreamed up this dastardly scheme. Virginians will not stand for it!
