Legistration to Change Adoption Rules

How draconian can we be. Shouldn't the first priority be the child, not whether or not he/she will have same sex or opposite sex parents. There's a reason our fore fathers sought the separation of church & state and this is a classic example. Those opposed on religious grounds, never want to be honest and look at the full picture, they somehow forget words found in 2Corinthians 5:10, Proverbs 11:12, Matthew 7:1 and so many others.

I believe that a thourough background check should be done on all applicants and once that is satisfactory, the prospective parents gender should have no bearing. Gay and Lesbians can be great parents just like straight people. They can also be bad same as straight people.

As a state Virginia needs to move forward not continue to embrace all the wrong idealogies of the past. Learn from the past and use that knowledge to move forward.

I am in support of Lesbians and Gays being able to adopt. Why should we allow these children to continue to be wards of the state when they can become a part of a loving home, have a family, grow up to be great citizens.
