If a meteor or asteroid is hurling towards space, we most certainly do everything we can as a species to protect ourselves and ensure our survival. We all accept to wear a seatbelt, and abide by the speed limit, in the interest of our protection and survival, as well as that of others, whether democrats or republicans!

Why can't we apply the same logic and instinct to protect our species when it comes to the environment?

Who cares if global warming results from human activity or is a natural phenomenon. Either way, if we could help reduce its devastating impact on our present and future, shouldn't we do everything we can as a species to protect ourselves and ensure our survival?
