I strongly support Virginia staying in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. We know that climate is changing, and that decarbonization needs to happen no matter what. Even people who do not understand that climate change is real understand that fossil fuel supplies are finite. So the question is whether we act in a way that 1) reduces the severity of climate change by acting sooner, 2) provides co-benefits to communities including reduced air pollution, and 3) positions Virginia to look forward rather than backward and provide leadership in developing and adopting clean technology.
