Leaving RGGI is emblematic of a pure political move by the Youngkin administration that is out of step with its base and will not be beneficial for Virginia long term. Climate change will severely impact Virginia, especially Hampton roads, and having this money to supplement coastal resilience projects and other decarbonizing projects is crucial. As a republican, governor youngkin, do not continue to move forward with this.
