The idea that one of the most affluent states in the union lacks the capacity to pave the way on important environmental and regulatory matters is laughable at best and malicious at worst. In spite of constant lobbying from fossil fuel groups, the future must be renewable, and we as a society require the full commitment of our government to lead us there. Furthermore, perverting the mantle of libertarian values to excuse governmental refusal to protect it's communities is truly deplorable. Virginia should not act as some noncommittal entity afraid of working hard to enact change. We must aim to be better.
