Proposed regulations for pet stores

As they are currently written the proposed regulations for pet stores that sell kittens and puppies do not go far enough! They need to include a requirement for a licensed vet to create protocols for animal care at the stores. And they should be subject to penalties if a VDACS inspector finds they have violated any animal welfare laws (just as animal shelters are).

Pet stores in VA have so far escaped oversight like this and the animals are suffering! Please make changes that will allow the proposed regulations to really protect the puppies and kittens sold in pet stores.

Thank you!
