Every Child Deserves a Loving Home

A loving home is a loving home, regardless of race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability and family status. By removing rules that protect children and families from discrimination you will essentially be allowing state-licensed agencies to decide that some races, religions, political beliefs, etc. are better than others. These factors should NOT be considered when a loving family wants to adopt or foster a child as they have nothing to do with how well a child will be cared for. As a Virginia resident I do NOT want state approved agencies to disregard perfectly good homes based solely on these reasons. Every child deserves a safe and loving home!

  • The best interests of the child should be the sole factor in deciding whether a child should be placed with a prospective foster care or adoptive parent or parents
  • State-licensed child placing agencies should not be allowed to discriminate against children or prospective parents based on race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability and family status
  • The State Board of Social Services should restore to the final rules the protections against such discrimination included in the proposed rules.
