National v. State Examination

Having worked in the healthcare industry as a nurse, marketing director, and most recently Executive Director, the reason I choose to do what I do is because I sincerely want to do all I can to enhance the quality of life of the residents I serve. The assumption that passing a National exam will ever lead to an increase in the quality of life of the residents in the facility that he/she manages is completely inaccurate. This requirement does nothing more than increase costs, particularly in an industry that is already seeing other regulatory issues raise costs to the providers. When costs increase, who suffers? In this case, the residents we are serving. Therefore, I strongly oppose requiring a National examination for Virginia Administrator's.
