Opposed for the National Exam for ALF Administators

As an Assisted Living Administator for over seven years, I would like to express my opinion regarding the licensure requirements.

Please consider a State Examination as an alternative to the National Examination.  Although licenses are an important tool to determine a person's level of compentency, I feel that it is misleading.  There are a lot of good administrators who heartfully do a wonderful job at managing and leading an Assisted Living Facility.  However,  I feel that it would be reasonable to say that if a licensure was to be one of the qualifications for an administrator to effectively operate an Assisted Living Facility, then one should take a state examination.

Respectfully,

Kathryn Jill Webster-Sutherly

Executive Director
