Please do not discriminate against parents who are homosexuals. My daughter and her partner were able to establish full parental rights of the child to whom my daughter gave birth for her partner in Massachusetts through the adoption process similar to the one used by heterosexual partners when a biological parent gives up parental rights or is deceased and a child is adopted by a new spouse.
I have commented before, but so many negative comments have mentioned religious freedom and the desire for some agencies to be exempted from serving homosexual couples that I am writing again. In Massachusetts, agencies that object to placing children with homosexuals simply do not accept state funds for adoption services if they continue to offer them. Choice is thus maintained, children can be placed by non-religious agencies, and families can be recognized and kept intact. If the issue is one of tax money used by the state to perform services for morally objectionable reasons, there are a host of issues, like the death penalty and over use of incarceration for drug addicts, that need to be addressed before this one. Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion.
