The need to create sustainable infrastructure based in renewable energies and conservation of natural resources is an absolute imperative right now. Wasting time and money trying to open more mines, which dump toxic byproducts like heavy metals and carcinogens into our soil, water, and air, is foolhardy in the extreme.
