Please enact the proposed amendment to 4VAC10-30-170, which allows for the otherwise lawful carry of firearms and ammunition in state forests! This amendment brings state forests into alignment with state parks, national parks, and national forests.
Without addressing the obvious arguments concerning the inherent right to self-defense, and the protections afforded by the 2nd Amendment, it hardly seems logical that we are not prohibited from carrying our firearms for self-defense in city, state, and national parks, as well as in the National Forests within the Commonwealth, but are prohibited from carrying those same firearms in state forests that have less police presence.
