Action | Amend Requirements for Carrying Handguns in State Forests |
Stage | Proposed |
Comment Period | Ended on 3/16/2011 |
Please enact the proposed amendment to 4VAC10-30-170, which allows for the otherwise lawful carry of firearms and ammunition in state forests! This amendment brings state forests into alignment with state parks, national parks, and national forests.
State, Local and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) are not staffed to protect and defend every person that goes for a walk in a state forest. LEAs that patrol Virginia forests can tell you these places are NOT nearly as safe as "Bambi's Forest". Bad things can happen to good people. Virginia Citizens should be allowed to defend themselves in state forests just as they can walking down the street in any town or city in the Commonwealth.
Please don't continue to disarm Virginia Citizens with silly gun laws.
